Ok,

So I started to form the bones for the 2008 Podcasting Schedule on our shared Google Spreadsheet. This will be the OFFICIAL draft for the schedule so what ends up here by the deadline for print, will be used for the real schedule at the convention!

Go and take a look at what we have so far, all of it can be changed around, but it is a start!

Thanks!

I get the login page for Google docs...is this supposed to be the public, read only version?

I definitely want to attend the Podcasting Promotion, Podcasting Your Writing, Creative Commons and Legal Issues, and Podcasting Into the Future Panels. Lots to learn there. Are you wanting suggestions on when we think other panels should go on?

I think I fixed it now so everyone can see it!

Obviously from the looks of the last comment, people CAN see it now! :)

And, yes, if you want to suggest other or new panels, there is a section for that here on the system.

You can just go in there and create a post with the new stuff you want to suggest.

In the past the schedule has been very flexible until closer to the con itself. I think we end up having to submit our 'final' schedule to the convention for print in the book around the beginning of August / late July. So, it is a free for all until then. Those panels that are up there now are probably going to stay, or at least be there in some form, we MIGHT have to move stuff around due to people time and schedules. But those current ones will be in the track with a 85% accuracy.

Here's what I found when doing a couple of tests...

If you're logged into a Google account when you click on the link it will open fine. However, if you're not logged into a Google account then you get a Google Docs login page so you need to already be logged in to be able to view the schedule.

Strange,

I went back in and double checked that it is set to EVERYONE not just Google logged in.

Let me see if this is the same URL:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pnLu7rzD5O8M3TSFQVG5KTA&hl=en

Cause, according to the system that links is the 'public' everyone can view it link.

If that one doesn't work try this:

//spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pnLu7rzD5O8M3TSFQVG5KTA&output=html

This one still requires you to be logged into Google.

If you add the http: in front of this one it works whether logged in or not!!

Hey Derek, can we tentatively put the live Cult of UHF on Fri or Sat at the 10 or 11:30 block? As long as I have an hour and a half I can get in a show.

Cool,

I think I can do that. This year they are VERY strict on the timing on the track schedules. So, this year we directors have to use a new online schedule tracking thing, which is much cooler since what we put in that, is what goes into the printed book at the con itself. So, we know if it is correct or not.

I think we have one hour blocks, but we CAN do events over TWO time blocks to make 2 hour ones, etc... But there are only a few of those. I'll make it work!

Ok, since our first 'REAL' meeting happened yesterday. That means it is all DOWNHILL from now until the con! :D

If you ever can come to one of those general staff meetings, you will then know just accurate that statement might be. :D

From what you've told me and what I've heard from others that seemed to be the case.

What is the difference between 017 and 019? Also, I'm listed as a panelist for 019, but I don't do any writing for the podcast. I podcast about the writing. ;)

The 'Art' panel is more about the technique of writing scripts, etc, for audio production. The other more about how to tweak your book or other written work for it to be used in audio format.

JustinMacumber
04-07-2008, 10:08 PM
Ooooohhhhhh. Gotcha. Huh. Well, I'm still listed on one of those as a panelist, and sadly I don't have much to offer. The only work I've written for audio is a short story I converted into a script of sorts, and I'm not even finished with it. In the hopes of not looking like an idiot, I don't think you want me on any of those. The only panel I can really speak to is the one I'm moderating.

I fixed it and removed ya' :D

JustinMacumber

Gracias. One last thing, and I'm all good. You've got everyone listed for my panel that I needed, but Stackpole won't be speaking on it, so if you can remove his name, I'd be all set.

dcolanduno

Can I ask why you don't want Stackpole on that one? Seems like he would be a great fit.
