Ok here's my silly question, and feel free to laugh at me, I'm a newb.
What are the chances of a podcast like mine getting an interview with some of the media guests at Dragon*Con? And if it's possible, who should I contact? Would it be better to contact the guest or their agent or go through Dragon*Con?
I know, newb right?

There is no laughing here...the only good way to learn is by asking questions. We've all been there.

I know, newb right? My experience has been that the best way to get interviews with the celebs is through them or their people directly. Either before the con or early in the con.
Best to start working that angle in advance since there will be others with the same idea. :)

P.S. Since this thread isn't really related to the Parsec Awards I moved it to the podcasters track forums.

Yes,
What Kevin said. Best way would be to keep an eye on the guest list and when you see people you WANT to interview, try to reach them via e-mail or phone before the con so they can set aside some time. You might be able to set it up so you can meet them in your hotel room or theirs so the interview is done someone nice and quiet. :)

In past years we try to make sure that at least one of our crew members keeps their room very clean just for possible interviews. :D

Ya,
The first couple years it was always the suite that Mike and Evo had for themselves. Past two years... one of which I was just 'not there' and then last year, I was running around so much I missed EVERYTHING, literally. The only two events I got to see were the Debate, and a part of the live Astronomy Cast, and Keith and the Girl.
This year, I my goal, to be aware of the convention while there!

So adding on to my silly question :) We have a few interviews in the works and I totally flaked on setting up a place to do the interviews. What do you guys do? I certainly don't want to say "Hey come back to my room" :)

I am working on getting an extra room on the floor where the track is going to be. But, if that doesn't happen, in the past people HAVE just used their hotel rooms... :|

Plus there are actually some fairly quiet places in the hotels. Last year I recall seeing Scott Sigler undergoing a long interview in the Hilton on one of the upper floors just behind the railing of the dropoff.

I only really ask because I had someones agent ask me if we had a place set aside for the interviews and where was it. So I thought 'Crap what do I tell her?"

If your room is at the Hilton, you could use that in a pinch. We REALLY tried to get an interview room on the same floor as the track this year, but with the MASSIVE growth of the con, there was just no more empty rooms anywhere in any of the hotels.
