View Full Version : Don't Blow off the Parties

My biggest mistake at last year's Dragon*Con was not going to the parties on the first day. I don't know if it's like this every year, but last year three parties were held on the first day, by Sigler, Keith and the Girl, and BroLo. (The last was more of an unofficial concert.) I was tired and figured that there would be plenty more parties in the following days, but there weren't, at least not with open invitations. My sense is that you get invited to future parties only if you attend them on the first day. So if you don't want to miss out, plan on going to every open party that is announced on the first day.

I don't think there's any 'unwritten' rule like that.
I think it's more a case of people tend to get tired as the con goes on so the late night parties and get togethers are more likely to take place on Friday night before folks have started to wear themselves out. :D

Could be. Last year was my first Dragon*Con, so I still don't know how everything works. Let's change the rule to this:
Make a point of going to the parties on the first day, because later on, people will be too tired to have them, and you'll be too tired to go.
